Horse Riding Lessons

At Avoca Park, we understand that each rider is unique, and we value your individual preferences.

QUALITY and SAFETY are our top priorities.

All lessons are taught by Equatrian Australian (EA) Qualified Coaches or trainee coaches undertaking accredited training under the guidance of Coach Educator and Avoca Park Director, Leanne Williams.

Every term rider begins with a private assessment lesson, allowing us to understand your experience, match you with a suitable horse, and develop a plan to help you achieve your goals.

Riders who can safely trot independently may progress to semi-private lessons (2 riders), which are a fantastic way to build confidence and friendships.

We also offer group riding through our Pony Club Australia sessions and school holiday programs, as well as 1-hour couples rides and casual children's rides to the Memorial Reserve.

For riders wanting something tailored to their individual goals, we can also create customised riding packages to suit your needs and budget.

Leanne Williams is a fully qualified Level 3 Dressage Coach with Equestrian Australia and is the proud owner of Avoca Park Equestrian.

She is also a Licensed teacher in Philippe Karl's, School of Legerete.

Leanne has dedicated her learnings to understanding how the horse's mind and body works to enable comfort and longevity for both horse and rider.

Advanced Lessons on FEI Trained Edoras Jazmine

If you would like to ride a classically trained FEI horse in self-carriage, Edoras Jazmine is for you.

Jaz is beautifully trained up to Grand Prix and has the ability to give riders the ultimate feel self carriage in all her movements.

Lessons are with EA Level 3 Dressage Coach and Licensed Legerete (French School of Lightness) Teacher Leanne Williams.

Available for lessons for riders with a minimum of EA Preliminary or Grade 3 ARC or PCA riding experience.

My 8 years old and 11 years old had a fabulous day yesterday. They were very excited when we picked them up and kept talking about it. They enjoyed the horse riding so much. A lovely equestrian centre that caters for everyone. As an experienced rider, I was able to have a lesson on the beautiful Jazzy with Leanne that challenged me in all the right ways. At the same time my 2 little daughters participated in the half day holiday program. They are still talking about it.All the staff I came across were friendly and chatty and the horses were well cared for and respected.

My 6 year old had the time of her life at the school holiday program. From learning about how to care for the horses to riding them solo. The ladies at Avoca park are so friendly and inviting, the atmosphere and the horses all make it a beautiful experience. I highly recommend Avoca Park for horse riding lessons, cannot fault any of there services. I am throughly enjoying my lessons and getting back into horse riding, it has been healing and empowering after spending the last 8 years raising my children, I feel very blessed to be able to do this for myself as owning a horse right now is not a possibility, this is the next best thing. My daughter has learned a great deal of horse riding skills from her teacher, Danya. Mandy from the head office was also very helpful. Additionally, the owner, Leanne, personally addressed and resolved some issues we encountered during class. Highly recommended!

We stayed for two nights at Avoca and had a wonderful family holiday. All the staff around the property were very welcoming and helpful and it was a lovely place to walk around and pat the friendly horses and donkeys. Our daughter also enjoyed a couple of riding lessons with really enthusiastic coaches. Being your wet weather gear if you travel in winter!

My daughter (aged 10) and three of her school friends loved their first time at Avoca Park last week. It’s a gorgeous property and the service from the staff was excellent. The girls did a 2 day overnight camp and the girls are now very eager to organise another stay at the property during the next school holidays. The girls have more confidence on horses and they also enjoyed the jacuzzi in the evening. The staff sent through many pics of the girls having fun and that was very much appreciate.

My boys loved the school holiday program , they had never ridden a horse before this let alone get a trot in . There cowboy dreams came true 😊 They really enjoyed getting to know the ponys brushing them and giving them hay . Renee and Mandy made the experience fun and memorable for the boys they always made sure they were comfortable. Thank you Mandy for the yummy cake and cordial after the session . Highly recommend doing this with your kids they will love it !

From my very first lesson I knew that Avoca park was special. Coming back into riding after 6 years off was daunting and so I was looking for a riding school whose coaches are kind, knowledgeable, and had the horses’ best interests at heart. I can confidently say that Avoca park has exceeded these expectations from the get go. Mandy was so patient with me in lining up a term riding schedule which worked for us all, Danya has been the most fantastic and supportive coach, and Perry has been a delight to learn on. One thing I really appreciate about the coaching at Avoca Park is that nothing is rushed, which means that lessons always feel safe and I feel supported through every bit of learning that we do. Perry (pictured) and I have got to know each other very well which has only enhanced my positive experience at Avoca Park so far. The stablehands are all super lovely to work with as well, and always willing to help when I need it - shoutout to Liam, Jordan, and Amelia.
