Here are some more BENEFITS
We prioritise relaxation and clarity so every horse learns without fear or overwhelm. This creates calmer, safer and more willing partners who enjoy their work and carry those positive experiences into the rest of their training.

Posture-Focused Training for Lifelong Soundness
Many horses struggle with natural asymmetry, weak toplines, tight necks or tension through the back. Our system promotes correct biomechanics, straightness, self-carriage and balance from day one. This not only improves how a horse moves now, but also supports soundness and healthy development long into the future.
Every horse is different — and their training should be too. We create individualised plans for weanlings needing structure, youngsters ready to be backed, horses requiring re-education, or mature horses with behavioural or physical challenges. Your horse is trained according to their needs, not pushed through a one-size-fits-all process.

Holistic Development of Body, Mind and Behaviour
Behavioural issues often stem from confusion, soreness or imbalance. Our blend of groundwork, in-hand work, posture training and ridden development helps horses feel comfortable, understood and confident. This leads to clearer communication, more willing behaviour and a stronger partnership with their owner.
Our structured training pathway builds rhythm, balance, strength and understanding in logical, progressive stages. This ensures every horse develops true foundation skills — making them softer, straighter, and more rideable no matter what their future discipline may be.

Support for Conformation Challenges and Developmental Weaknesses
From downhill frames and weak hindquarters to uneven strides and tight backs, we specialise in helping horses improve alignment and muscle development. By addressing the body as part of the training, horses become more balanced, stronger and more comfortable within themselves.
We take a limited number of horses at a time so each one receives consistency, time and the attention they deserve. Your horse is never rushed or overlooked — they are trained with patience, feel and genuine care every single day.

Will This Aid My Horse?
Our training programs benefit horses of all ages and backgrounds, from early-handled youngsters to seasoned partners needing clearer foundations. With a calm, posture-focused approach, we develop confidence, balance and correct biomechanics through tailored groundwork, in-hand work and ridden training. Every horse learns to move with better alignment, engage their body correctly and think calmly through each task — creating true balance, softness and long-term soundness for any discipline or future career.

At 56, I’m still as horse-obsessed as I was at 16 — only now with 35 years of experience, a few more grey hairs, and a lot more understanding of what makes horses tick.
My life’s work has been about one thing: helping horses move, feel, and live better.
From breeding and raising foals, to training horses right through to FEI level, to now working with Thoroughbreds on and off the track — it’s been a full-circle journey of discovering how posture and biomechanics shape everything about a horse’s physical life.
I’ve always believed good posture isn’t just for pretty pictures — it’s the secret to soundness, comfort, and performance.
When a horse learns to carry itself correctly, it’s like watching them exhale and say, “Ah, that’s how I’m meant to move.”
They become stronger, straighter, and so much happier in their work. That’s the kind of transformation I live for.
After 15 years studying Légèreté, I learned that true lightness isn’t just in the reins — it’s in the whole body.
It’s about balance, ease and that effortless partnership between horse and human. Those lessons now flow into everything I do, from helping racehorses develop symmetry and strength, to supporting retired Thoroughbreds finding their new rhythm in life.
I’ve seen it all — the wobbly foals, the overachievers, the quirky geniuses — and every single one has taught me something new about the importance of posture, patience, and feel.
Whether it’s on a treadmill, in the arena, or out in the paddock, my goal’s the same:
Help horses find their best version of themselves — strong, balanced, and ready to shine.
LET ME HELP YOU TOO! :)

John Williams
Co-Director of Avoca Park, John brings over 35 years of hands-on experience in breeding, handling, and developing young horses. His passion lies in the early years, guiding weanlings through their first and most important lessons with patience, clarity, and consistency. John introduces each youngster to the essentials — being caught, led, tied up, groomed, handled around the body, and confidently navigating new environments. His calm, steady nature helps even the most unsure weanlings feel safe and understood, setting them up with solid manners and trust from the very beginning. With a natural ability to communicate without pressure, John ensures every weanling gains the confidence and skills they need to become relaxed, well-mannered young horses ready for their next stage of education.

Mandy previously worked at a riding school in England for over five years before moving to Australia.
After completing an Advanced Diploma in Horse Management, she spent 15 years working in senior roles within the racing industry at Caulfield Racecourse. During this time, Mandy gained extensive hands-on experience conditioning, strengthening, and rehabilitating horses using the treadmill — developing a sharp eye for balance, posture, and soundness.
Her years of experience have given her a deep understanding of how treadmill work can enhance performance, support recovery, and complement training programs across all types of horses. Mandy now brings that knowledge and attention to detail to her role as our office manager, ensuring everything behind the scenes runs as smoothly as the horses she’s worked with.
Our training programs are the result of more than 35 years spent refining a method that supports any horse — regardless of age, background, behaviour or conformation. Decades of learning, testing, and evolving have shaped a clear, reliable system that develops confidence, balance, posture and true understanding in every horse we work with. We stand by this method wholeheartedly because we’ve seen it transform thousands of horses, from raw youngsters to complex, challenging cases.
Through a structured blend of groundwork, in-hand exercises and ridden development, horses learn to move correctly, think calmly and build strength in a way that lasts. Our approach is suitable for all horses and all disciplines, giving them the foundations for long-term soundness and a positive riding future. In the videos below, you’ll see how calm, clear and consistent the process is — from early handling to developing rhythm, softness and rideability. Trusted by owners who want real, lasting change, this is where better movement and better partnerships truly begin.
